so... tonight i went to my first hockey game ever! new jersey devils vs. long island islanders... good times. good times. (okay - i don't really know who won - but some glass broke during a fight... so that was pretty cool.)

and now i come home... and the episode when ross & chandler and joey go to the hockey game and ross gets hit in the face with the hockey puck...

ironic. don't ya think?

after an awesome holiday... it's time to get back to reality... a new year... new goals... new ambitions... let's do this...

a quick recap of the past few days...
1) chillin' in warsaw - catching up with the fam & friends - sleeping in - snuggling with gaylord
2) road trip to grand rapids with mom & dad for my dad's job interview - keep your fingers crossed!
3) mom won a crap-load of money playing slots at the elk's... not too shabby... ;)
4) "three musketeers" at chicago skakes - starring abigail c. mueller - followed by some serious pub time
5) new year's in indy with the old crew - denney, saylor, coleman, mikey, colt, parker... we may have reverted back to college for the night... but had a fine time...
6) skipped my flight and drove back w/ colt... quite an adventure in and of itself... let's just say i think my blood pressure jumped about 80 points for 12 hours straight... but we're back safe and sound and that's all that matters... right?
7) i'm pretty sure i'm going to have to have a triple bi-pass - all i ate while in the midwest was cheese, bacon and more cheese...

back to the future...

sitting on the couch at mom & dad's house in claypool... the dogs laying on the floor under my feet... the cat on the couch next to me... a cup of coffee... movies on usa... now... that's a vacation...

christmas was nice. except for the fact that my sister's husband did not come over for christmas dinner and gifts. see, he was raised in a super-strict christian family that did not "celebrate" christmas... no tree... no gifts... no santa... i'm not saying i want him to change his beliefs... but my sister LOVES christmas... she'd put up her very own tree in her bedroom when we were little... we'd drive around singing carols and looking at lights... she'd be the first one up on christmas morning... waking me up at 6 am... watching "a christmas story" and "prancer" and "a disney christmas" over and over again... and silas (her husband) is taking that away from her... and from thier adorable baby. he's not a bad guy, but i just don't understand being anti-christmas... and ruining the spirit for everyone else... hopefully next year will be different...

and another free round-tripper from united! holler! i am very much willing to wait at the airport an extra hour in order to go to say, phoenix, this winter! and it makes things a little easier on my friends picking me up in chicago...

a few updates on my week:
1) office christmas party - too funny! let's just say the chairman made us all sing "the twelve days of christmas" w/ a few people on each day... so cheesy! i then proceeded to drink about 2 bottles of white wine... then a few of us proceeded to the hudson hotel for more beverages... and then i met up w/ melissa and tiiu @ the blarney stone and thought it wise to do tequila shots... and then met some random guy from peru and had a drink w/ him... all this on a tuesday night...
2) dinner w/ the lauder team at an adorable italian restaurant in the village... kiefer sutherland was sitting right behind us... again, much white wine consumed...
3) babysat for my favorite two children (besides allie, that is) on thursday night... nothing like hanging out with adorable children to get you in the christmas spirit.
4) mad christmas shopping yesterday - so close to being finished - so close...
5) "dreamgirls" last night at the zeigfield.... one word for you... JAMAZING! i mean, seriously... i threw my shoe at jennifer hudson, beyonce ended up singing her face off at the end of the movie, anika noni rose made b'way proud, eddie murphey made me cry... the movie itself is very well done... no strange gimmicks... i loved it!

what a weekend...

saturday night - christmas party at my apartment... so much fun... spinach dip, chili snatch, peppermint park, jello shots, wine, vokda mixers, more wine, hot cocoa, cookies, cake, ice cream, lil' smokies, warmed brie, cheese and crackers... healthy, healthy, healthy... we chatted, took christmas pictures by the tree, played celebrity and listened to a whole lot of christmas music... it really helped to put me in the christmas spirit... i am very blessed to have so many amazing friends.

sunday - little orchestra's cathedral concert... noon to 10 pm... 10 hours of manual labor... i kind of feel like someone dragged me into an alley and beat me repeatedly with a wooden baseball bat.... but it was fun... and good money... and i'm pretty buff now...

i'm actually very homesick right now - my whole family was together all day today, getting things ready... packing... giving gifts...

1) a homeless man hocked a lugie next to me on the subway a few days ago
2) i got reamed out by a huge bouncer in the east village for touching his motorcycle... whoops!
3) i may or may not have jumped rope hard-core to the theme of peewee's playhouse tonight
4) there are going to be some changes made in our apartment, including..
a) space heater in the bathroom
b) recycling, recycling, recycling
c) plastic dishes (no more shattered dishes on my floor and in my foot!)
5) i'm on a very, very strict budget until, well the end of time... but i've got a plan!!! muhahahaha!!!
6) phoenix for new years 2k7
7) my sister's about to have a 14 pound baby come out of her... i can't wait!!!
8) ran into donna murphy on saturday
